Privacy Policy

App: EU-Gewährleistung & GARAN. Last updated: 2026-07-31.

This app displays the official EU legal-guarantee notice (Annex I) and the GARAN durability label (Annex II) of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 on a merchant's product pages. It is a display tool. This policy explains what data it accesses, stores, and shares.

Data the app accesses

• Product data and app-owned metafields (scope write_products) — to read and store the merchant's GARAN fields (brand, model, duration, and the two flags) and to know which products are eligible.
• Store Files (scope write_files) — to upload the official notice/label files to the merchant's own Shopify Files (CDN), so the storefront serves them without contacting our backend.

Data the app stores

• The merchant's Shopify session (OAuth access token) so the app can function.
• App-owned metafields on the merchant's own store (GARAN data and generated-label URLs).
• No customer personal data is collected or stored.

Third parties & tracking

None. When the label renders on the storefront, no request is made to our backend or to any third party: assets are served from the merchant's own Shopify Files CDN, fonts are embedded, and there is no analytics or tracking.

Data retention & deletion

When the app is uninstalled, the merchant's session is deleted. The app implements the mandatory GDPR compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact); as no customer personal data is stored, the customer topics have nothing to return or delete, and shop/redact removes the shop's sessions.

Hosting

The backend runs on Google Cloud Run and Cloud SQL in the EU (europe-west1). Official label files are stored in the merchant's own Shopify Files.
